Coach Training Courses

SSTRAI club members can apply to become ACI coaches, these courses are independently certified by Coaching Ireland in line with the National Coaching Development Programme for  Ireland.  The ACI produces a programme of courses each year and clubs can recommend members to join the courses at venues throughout the 32 counties.

The ACI have planned an Introductory Level coaching courses for Cork and Dublin Nov and December 23, if you are interested please drop us an e-mail with your contact details and we will get back to you with the details and joining instructions.

Course cost is €100 for introductory level, however these are subsidised by €60 for 2023 and will only cost the club or coach €40 for the one day course.

On completion of the course there are three additional one day courses available to the coaches, these continuous professional development (CPD) courses are designed to equip the coaches with the necessary additional knowledge and skills to allow them progress along the coaching ladder  and be fully competent to coach independently without supervision of tutor or senior coach.

The CPD courses include 1 day Coaching People with Disabilities, the morning is class room based and the afternoon is delivering practical angling coaching session to clients with disabilities.

The Health & Safety, Risk Assessment, Safe Wading and River Rescue 1 day CPD course is again class room based in the morning with practical demonstrations and exercises in the afternoon in the field and river, lake or shoreline.

Finally the third CPD course is a 1 day Basic First Aid for Angling course delivered by an expert qualified paramedic instructor.

All courses are delivered by professionally qualified and certified tutors.
